Tygasil - Knitted Silica Fabrics

Tygasil Knitted silica fabrics are produced from 'E' Glass yarns and are subsequently converted by a chemical process to fabrics which consist of a minimum of 96% silicon dioxide. The resulting fabric properties include:
  • Excellent Temperature Resistance
  • High Thermal Resistance
  • Operator Friendly/Ease of Use
  • Contains no Chemical Binders
  • Reusable
  • Good Handle/Drapeabilty
Independent test on Knitted TYGASIL have shown no respirable fibres after exposure to 1000°C for 24 hours. (test report available on request).

The fabrics can also be supplied:

As Knitted 'E' glass (Code 000) Fabrics will be wider and thicker than indicated above, but the temperature resistance will be that of glass i.e. max. 550°C continuous use.

In Pre-shrunk silica form (Code 003) Temperature resistance will be as above. Dimensions will be less and residual shrinkage will be < 3%.

These fabrics can be supplied also in the form of cut shapes for special insulation applications.

Applications: Insulations in the pre and post weld heat treatment of piping and pressure vessels, cable tray protection, expansion joints, turbine exhaust insulation, protective clothing.

Fabrics Contain no Asbestos or Respirable Fibres.
