Tygasil - Knitted Silica
Fabrics
Tygasil Knitted silica fabrics are
produced from 'E' Glass yarns and are subsequently converted by a chemical
process to fabrics which consist of a minimum of 96% silicon dioxide. The
resulting fabric properties include:
- Excellent Temperature
Resistance
- High Thermal Resistance
- Operator Friendly/Ease of
Use
- Contains no Chemical Binders
- Reusable
- Good Handle/Drapeabilty
Independent test on Knitted
TYGASIL have shown no respirable fibres after exposure to 1000°C for 24
hours. (test report available on request).

The fabrics can also be
supplied:
As Knitted 'E' glass (Code
000) Fabrics will be wider and thicker than indicated above, but the
temperature resistance will be that of glass i.e. max. 550°C continuous
use.
In Pre-shrunk silica form (Code
003) Temperature resistance will be as above. Dimensions will be less and
residual shrinkage will be < 3%.
These fabrics can be supplied also
in the form of cut shapes for special insulation applications.
| Applications: |
|
Insulations in the
pre and post weld heat treatment of piping and pressure vessels, cable tray
protection, expansion joints, turbine exhaust insulation, protective
clothing. |
|
Fabrics Contain no Asbestos or
Respirable Fibres. |
